Message First off...why? I have a 1990...never really liked not having an airbag, and lately i really dont like it. I drive like a grandma for the most part...26 and not even a speeding ticket in 7 years in a TT, but lately i guess getting a little older (than when i bought the car) im just realizing how much i really dont like not having an airbag. Second, im on the shorter side but still somewhat longer legs. No matter how i adjust my seat, my seat belt always ends up across my collar bone, with one edge on my neck in what seems to be a really bad spot. I am aware of it an constantly pulling the belt off my neck, but coupled with not having an airbag, this car seems incredibly dangerous in a front end collision for ME.

Ive been working over the car for the past 7 years and its time for an interior revamp. I want to recover the seats, but at the same time the padding is old as can be, the motor barely works...i would be recovering myself, and based on the time and effort spent doing that and the cost of new skins, some decent racing/bucket seats are looking more and more attractive. Thinking along the lines of Corbeau TRS. Further, it was always a peave of mine being able to slide in the leather seats so easily.

Ive read a bit about the dangers of a harness on the street, particularly in roll over scenarios, which a roll bar is essentially required since you cant really move your head, however id be doing a proper harness install, mounting to a roll bar, not a full cage, just whatever i need to properly mount the harness. I dont track the car ever, never have nor any intention to, but its certainly not out of the question.

I sure as shit dont mind spending the money to improve the safety, but id like to hear from others who drive with a 4pt daily, and anyone who has an opinion on the matter.
